7 Education System Changes India Needs To Implement

7 Education System – The pandemic has entirely transformed the education system all over the world. The Indian education system is not an exception. Today, online learning is synonymous two traditional classrooms because of the influence of online classes in the past two years. However, we still need to consider a few changes that only an institution can implement.

As educational institutions reopen, they need to balance all activities, online or offline, to promote quality education. It would not be easy for students to go back to attending only traditional classes. Technology has surely become a critical part of their life that not only makes learning easy but also learning timings flexible allowing more area for creativity among students.

Despite the already existing changes, India still needs to implement some ideas in the education system as a whole;

Personalized approach

We should have a modern approach to personalized learning. When teachers, through an institution, give more importance to the unique capabilities of every child they can identify their strengths and weaknesses. Learning projects can be assigned according to everyone’s capacity.

A child must have the freedom to practice self-study at their own pace. This is possible only after teachers create adaptive curriculums. Thanks to technological resources, teachers can plan multiple assignments and curriculum patterns for the same classroom and use them simultaneously to benefit individual growth.

Sometimes, learning activities can also use modern technology like a school LMS to promote personalization. Here, a student can use every feature for personal gain, interact with teachers and other classmates in the chat rooms, and access learning materials.

Moral Values

The Indian educational system perfectly showcases the combination of old and new educational patterns. We take inspiration from ancestral educational methods, that instill moral values such as integrity, loyalty, and gentleness while making proper use of whatever technological resources we have to expand opportunities for students in the modern world.

However, value-based curriculums have shown increased productivity among students, and diligence towards learning. When they follow specific disciplines they are destined to become professionals.

Skill Assessment

One of the major drawbacks of the Indian education system is the improper skill assessment of students. The labor force is quite talented in our nation, but institutions fail to foster growth in the same area that a child excels in because we prioritize a few subjects more than the others. Ideologies and curriculums need to change simultaneously to promote all skillset areas of students and not just a few technical ones.

Ensuring Future Cohorts

We already realized how important technology is in the life of a student. But what are the negative aspects of an online presence? With the increase in Internet usage, cyber crimes have also increased and are rated the 4th most critical threat globally. An institution must have modules educating students about cyberbullying cyber security issues online failures and other threats they should be aware of.

Institutions have taken a stance by including such details in the admission management system itself since every session begins with admission and these days most institutions prefer accepting applications through an online portal only. Apart from this, schools can publish open knowledge sources accessible to all, students or not.

Simultaneous Learning By Teachers

Completing a few educational courses and training for years, with much more experience, is not the only thing that makes a teacher an expert. Because times are changing, teachers also need to evolve and learn with their students. The pandemic was a great example of this because every educator had to learn using technological means, alongside their students, to create an inclusive and productive learning environment.

Indian education systems can promote extra training courses teachers can pursue later in their lives to enhance their skills and make them future-proof.

Collaboration, Creativity, And Global Citizenship

A school needs to promote growth among students and prepare them for the real world, not alone for the jobs. Indian education curriculum must be goal driven, allowing every child to ask questions. Currently, our curriculums are discipline-based only with more importance to academic areas. but for real-world development children need purpose and proper shaping of their lives, with enough backup from the institution.

Because a community cannot provide enough for the child, class teachers have to take up the same responsibility and allow every student to learn more. An institution can integrate modules to promote communicative and other soft skills among students so they gain moral and academic literacy while becoming good global citizens.
